  1. Still trying. Tried imageshack – no luck. I noticed some blocking of remote images. So tried embedded image. How do I get that to work? It doesn’t even show on my form. Only images I recall see working on my incoming mail (from others, not this newsletter) is as attachments to their e-mails. Can I do that?

      • my test db has mail going to gmail, excite mail and the mail system on my isp’s server (admin@ddforum.co.za). One message I received said that remote images are removed for ‘my’ protection. and invited me to click a button to view the image, which, incidentally, did not work.

Regarding the embedded image, my image is jpg so perhaps the embedding feature won’t work for jpg or perhaps, even, the jpg is somehow effecting the outcome of the insert image feature.

Are others happily sending images in their mailletters. ie, is my experience unique?

      • I may not have understood you – by mail server, you mean my outgoing server? Well, I use gmail but I don’t know how the mechanics of your mailletter submit works, perhaps it uses the web host mail server or my isp server? How best can I figure this out?

      • Thanks a lot. ok – Well, I was hoping for something I wasn’t already doing to pop up but it couldn’t be simpler, could it. So the mystery continues. Just a question. The images I sent via pegasus did not need any approval to display. They simply displayed. Why would it be that sometimes they need permission to display and other times not? Seems sort of random

  2. Hi Anthony,

    About the pending filter. If I may – I use WP-Members so I can add fields in the members database (I don’t know how universal that feature is). I hope to add a field ‘Mail_List’, a check-box, so the user selects it if he wants newsletters or de-selects it if he changes his mind. So you mail if the box is checked and don’t if it isn’t. That would be a neat solution. You could of course get a lot more complicated – multiple mail lists etc, but I think that would spoil the elegance of your plug-in. Just a suggestion. :=}

    Thanks,

    John.

  3. Hi Anthony, advancement by small steps. I used the wrong URL. When I got it right the image appeared in the form, but when I ‘submitted’ it and read the email at destination, the image was missing. Could that be the Hot-Linking you referred to or is there possibly another reason?

    thanks, john

  4. Hi Anthony, Located the upload image button just can’t get it to work. It doesn’t seem to see the image I give the URL for. I’m doing something wrong and help would be appreciated. Also the filter requested will be appreciated. In my site, that of a polparty, I can’t just willy-nilly mail to my entire database. See ddforum.co.za.

    Thanks in anticipation.

  5. Hi Anthony,

I’m trying to achieve two things with this plug-in – send mail to selected members (those flagged with wanting mail in a member database) and to head the email with a banner identifying us. I’m lost about which address lists are used by various mail management systems. Can you answer my queries (above) and give me 101 on mail lists, please and thank you.

    john

    • Hello!, I will be making a chooseable list in the future, so you may select which users you want to email. I made this plugin to be straight forward. Send 1 email to every user including the administrators. To add a banner, simply upload the image in WordPress or Imageshack and insert the image into the newsletter via the Image insert button underneath the font family.

  7. Is there a way to have this plug-in work in the form of a contact form from the frontend and then it sends an email with the embed code?

  9. when i activete the plug in in the multisite wordpress installation i got two forms of contact form thats mean dublicate the form i dont know what is that but the plugin is working by sending mails so i want to fix the style if you know theis issue please mail me for that and i think the function add_shortcode made this

    • Yes, I am currently finding a fix to the style issue, also the plugin is Multisite-friendly, it has the option $multisite_enabled in easiest-newsletter.php if you change it to true it operates with the whole blog network, and not just with singular blogs.

  10. Hi,

is your plugin using any variables to personalize the newsletter ? If so, where are these parameters described ?

    Regards
    Ahmet
